✓ Checked Oct 2026 against the official pages. See sources
PhotoFit gives you a 4x6 sheet with several 2 x 2 in photos on it. Print it as an ordinary 4x6 photo, which costs far less than a passport photo service, then cut it out.

Steps
- Make your photo below and download the 4x6 print sheet ($4.99 with the digital file).
- Go to the store's photo site or app (Walmart Photo, CVS Photo, or Walgreens Photo) and upload the sheet.
- Choose a standard 4x6 print, glossy or matte. (USCIS asks for glossy for green card photos.)
- Turn off any auto-crop, "fill", or borderless zoom option so the sheet prints at 100% size. Check the preview: the cut lines should be inside the edges.
- Pick same-day pickup if offered, then cut along the lines with scissors or a paper trimmer.
- Measure one photo with a ruler: it should be exactly 2 x 2 in.
What it costs
A single 4x6 print usually costs well under $1, but prices vary by store and order size. On Oct 19, 2026, Walgreens listed prints from $0.29 and CVS listed photo prints from $0.32. Walmart's price varies by store, so check the app before you order.
Compare that with $15 to $18 for a store passport photo: see passport photo cost.

Tips for a photo that passes
- Stand 2 to 4 feet in front of a plain white or off-white wall (or hang a white sheet). Step forward from the wall so no shadow falls behind you.
- Have someone else take it from about 4 feet away, camera at eye level. Selfies at arm's length distort your face.
- Face a window or a soft lamp so both sides of your face are evenly lit. No flash.
- Take off glasses and hats. Neutral expression, eyes open, mouth closed. Leave room above your head and show your shoulders.
- Use the original camera photo, not a screenshot or a photo sent by text.
Not an official acceptance guarantee. These are basic checks; the agency makes the final decision. Things we can't check: glasses glare, hair over the eyes, how recent the photo is, and whether it looks like you.
$4.99 for the clean photo

Questions
Can I print passport photos at Walmart?
Yes, you can print the 4x6 sheet as a regular photo print through Walmart Photo, then cut out the 2x2 photos. Make sure cropping is off so it prints at 100%.
Glossy or matte?
The State Department accepts matte or glossy photo-quality paper. USCIS asks for thin glossy paper for I-485 photos.
